Concealed Pistol License


If you live within the city limits of Longview , you can pick up an application for a Concealed Pistol License (CPL) at the Longview Police Department located at 1351 Hudson Street, Longview, Washington on Monday – Friday between 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., closed for lunch from 11a.m. to 12p.m. (effective January 1, 2013).

 

Requirements include:

  • You must be 21 years of age at the time of the application
  • You must be a United States citizen or have a valid Alien Firearms Certificate from the State of Washington Division of Professional Licensing in Olympia
  • You must live in the city of Longview
  • You must be eligible to own firearms under RCW 9.41.040 and 9.41.045
  • You must not have a court order or injunction against possessing firearms
  • You must not be pending trial, appeal or sentencing on a felony offense
  • You must not have an order to forfeit firearms within the last year
  • You must not have any outstanding warrants for any charge, from any court
  • You must provide picture identification

For a NEW Concealed Pistol License:

  1. Bring picture identification with current residence address to the Longview Police Department
  2. Complete a “CPL” application which can be obtained at Longview Police Department
  3. Pay a non-refundable $52.50 fee to Longview Police Department
  4. Be fingerprinted (Fingerprints are done on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays only at 10:00 a.m. OR 2:00 p.m. )
  5. This information will be used to do a background check on the applicant.  If the background is clear, the approved license will be mailed to the applicant.  If denied the applicant will receive a letter stating the permit has been denied.
 

For a RENEWAL Concealed Pistol License (Application must be submitted before the original CPL expiration date):

  1. Bring picture identification with current residence address and the expiring Concealed Pistol License to the Longview Police Department
  2. Complete a “CPL” application which can be obtained at Longview Police Department
  3. Pay a non-refundable $32 fee to Longview Police Department
  4. This information will be used to do a background check on the applicant.  If the background is clear, the approved license will be mailed to the applicant.  If denied the applicant will receive a letter stating the permit has been denied.
 

For an EXPIRED Concealed Pistol License (Within 90 days of Expiration Date):

  1. Bring picture identification with current residence address to the Longview Police Department
  2. Complete a “CPL” application which can be obtained at Longview Police Department
  3. Pay a non-refundable $42 fee to Longview Police Department
  4. This information will be used to do a background check on the applicant.  If the background is clear, the approved license will be mailed to the applicant.  If denied the applicant will receive a letter stating the permit has been denied.
 

For a REPLACEMENT Concealed Pistol License (if you lose your license while it is still valid, you can obtain a replacement license which is valid until the original expiration date):

  1. Bring picture identification with current residence address to the Longview Police Department
  2. Complete a “CPL” application which can be obtained at Longview Police Department
  3. Pay a non-refundable $10 fee to Longview Police Department.
