Summer Reading Registration to “Read for Fun and Prizes” starts this week!

Youth of all ages, newborns through HS Seniors can sign up anytime the library is open!
The program is free, and no library cards or parents are required!

The prize for finishing the 1st Reading Record is admission to the Cowlitz Black Bears vs. the Klamath Falls Gems baseball game @ LCC on July 30, 6:35 p.m. Children can choose a book from the “Periodic Table of Literary Elements” and choose a book to “Read into the Collection”. When they have finished the reading requirements (“Atomic Weight and Valence”), they will be the 1st person to check out such hot, new and forthcoming titles as Minecraft, Frozen, Diary of a Wimpy Kid; the Long Haul and Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods.

Babies and Toddlers have an Early Learning Activities Reading Record, older children can choose to track their reading by titles or minutes.
During the 6 weeks of the Summer Reading Program, June 16 – July 31, youth can also earn “Squirrel Scrip” and read their fines off; 10 minutes of reading erases $1 in overdue fines!

Middle School and HS students can sign up in the TeenSpace. Teens have their own prizes and events, and teens track their reading by minutes.
