October 26 City Council Meeting in brief

• Moved the agenda item related to the City’s financial support for Pathways 2020 to the next meeting
• Issued a proclamation to honor departing Cowlitz County auditor Kristina K. Swanson for her many accomplishments and service to the community over her 26-year career
• Received a report from the Sister City delegation that visited Wako, Japan in October
• Recognized the partner organizations and individuals involved in Food for Thought summer literacy, activity, and meal program conducted for 24 days during July and August at Archie Anderson Park.
• Held a public hearing regarding the moratorium on applications for emergency shelters
• Approved Resolution No. 2241 adopting finding of fact for the moratorium to comply with RCW 35A.63.220
• Approved Ordinance No. 3361 ending the moratorium upon the acceptance of applications for emergency shelters under LMC 19.09.223
• Accepted the recommendation of the Planning Commission and directed the city attorney to prepare an ordinance regarding zoning code amendments to allow City pump stations in all residential, commercial and industrial zoning districts
• Accepted the recommendation of the Planning Commission and directed the city attorney to prepare an ordinance regarding zoning code amendments to allow personal service establishments in the riverfront district
• Approved Resolution No. 2243 to set a public hearing to vacate an excess alley right-of-way abutting Lot 1, Cleek’s First Edition
