Emergency Water Main Replacement Project Update
Posted Date: 11/20/2013

Advanced Excavating Specialists (AES) has installed new 12” water main on Beech St. between 14th Ave. and the alley between 16th St. and 17th St. This portion of the new main will be put into service this week following chlorination and testing.

On Tuesday, November 19th, AES began removing concrete in the alley between 16th St. and 17th St. to prepare for installing the new 8” water line between Beech St. and Nichols Blvd. AES will focus on concrete removal, pipe installation, and service connections between Beech St. and Baltimore St. before moving northerly toward Cypress St. and Nichols Blvd. Local access to the alley will be maintained. Driveways will be blocked temporarily as work progresses past them, but AES will work with residents individually to minimize impacts. Garbage/recycling schedules may be impacted, but AES and the City will coordinate garbage/recycling pickup and ensure that customers don’t experience any disruption in service.
Residents in the area may experience temporary water quality impacts as a result of construction activities.
