You are invited and encouraged to participate in this year’s Longview National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014.
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
- Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and
- Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back
Please contact Longview Police Cpl. Danielle Jenkins no later than Friday, July 11th if your Block Watch group is having a National Night Out party and would like a visit by Longview Police Dept. and other City of Longview officials.
Due to budget constraints and staffing levels, LPD cannot guarantee officers will be able to visit every National Night Out party, but they will make an effort.
If you plan to close off your street, please fill out and turn in the street use permit request no later than June26th if this is the first time your group has participated in National Night Out and asked to close your street
If you’ve participated and closed your street annually, your street use permit paperwork is due July 3, 2014.
