NW Voices Presents Michael Schmeltzer
Come join us for the next NW Voices events on Wednesday, November 29 featuring author and poet Michael Schmeltzer. The author of A Single Throat Opens will present a workshop on November 29 from 3:30-5:00 p.m. at LCC in Main 145 and a reading at the Longview Public Library beginning at 7:00 p.m. downstairs in the Marion J. Otteraaen Room.
Michael Schmeltzer was born in Japan and eventually moved to the US. He is the co-author of A Single Throat Opens, an epistolary memoir that explores addiction, childhood, and family, as well as two books of poetry: Blood Song, which was a finalist for the Washington State Book Awards, and Elegy/Elk River, winner of the Floating Bridge Press Chapbook Award. His writing can be found in numerous journals such as Black Warrior Review, Mid-American Review, The Shallow Ends, and PANK, among others. He currently lives in Seattle but is most often procrastinating on Twitter at @mschmeltzer01.
