Applications being accepted for new Longview Public Development Authority

The City of Longview invites applications for membership to the Board of the newly formed Longview Public Development Authority. The Public Development Authority will assist with and facilitate the redevelopment of property within the Cowlitz County Event Center Master Plan area and undertake development in the underutilized area in the heart of the City in a manner consistent with City planning, facilitating private investment and economic development. The event center is formerly known as the Cowlitz County Fairgrounds and is located at 1900 7th Avenue in Longview. Priorities include development of an indoor sports complex and a hotel to complement the conference facilities.

The Board shall be composed of five (5) members appointed by the City Council to four (4) year terms. Members shall be civic or business leaders with experience relevant to the purpose of the Authority in such fields as finance, real estate development, tourism, law, or construction management.
