Station 81 - 740 Commerce Avenue

Station 81 was built in 1975.  It has two dorm areas, administrative offices for the chief, on-duty battalion chief, an administrative battalion chief, the fire marshal and the fire secretary. It also has a company officer office/training room, kitchen, day room, fitness area, a shop area and two bays. 

Truck 81, our aerial ladder truck, and Engine 81 respond from this station. The battalion chief command vehicle, the fire marshal's investigation vehicle and a department pickup is also stored here. We also have Truck 812, which is an older model fire truck, used as our backup vehicle for emergency callback situations. We have an mobile breathing air supply trailer that is owned from Maritime Fire & Safety Association we store here. Anyone who is a member of the MFSA could request the use of this trailer in an emergency situation.

We have a stand alone air compressor that is used to fill SCBA air bottles for our department and under contract, with Weyerhaeuser Company, Longview Fibre Company, Cowlitz County Fire District #6 - Castle Rock Fire Department, Cowlitz County Fire District #3 - Toutle Fire Department, and Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue.

This station is manned by two companies and the administrative staff. One engine company and one ladder truck company respond from this station. There is a minimum of six line firefighters and one battalion chief on duty 24-hours a day. The fire marshal also works part-time out of this facility and part-time at the Community Development Department located at City Hall at 1528 Broadway Street, Longview.
